Chicagoland clients keep the same local team, leadership, and service agreements.
WEBIT Services, a Naperville managed IT provider serving Chicagoland businesses since 1996, is now 100% employee-owned. Founder Eric Rieger completed the transition through a partnership with Buildkin before stepping away from the business to focus on his health.
For clients, the day-to-day arrangement holds. Aarin Bailey, Chief Operating Officer, continues to lead WEBIT as he has for the past several years. Clients continue working with the same vCIOs, engineers, and support contacts they work with today.
WEBIT has no changes planned to pricing, service agreements, support processes, or ticketing as part of the transition.
“When the people serving you own the business, the incentive lines up with long-term relationships and long-term reputation,” Bailey said. “That was Eric’s reason for structuring it this way.”
Delcie Bean, CEO of Buildkin, has taken on the CEO role at WEBIT. Buildkin is a family of 100% employee-owned technology companies. Its companies include WEBIT Services; Upstream Impact, a custom software and SaaS developer serving the Chicago area; Paragus IT, a managed IT services provider serving Massachusetts and New England since 2002; and AITF, an AI strategy and adoption consultancy.
“Eric could have handed this company to a lot of people,” Bean said. “That he chose to hand it to his own employees tells you what he cared about. My job is to be a careful custodian of what he built and to keep the promises he made.”
Bean has spent more than 20 years in managed IT services and founded a 100% employee-owned MSP in Massachusetts. He and Rieger have known each other for more than ten years.
WEBIT keeps its name, its Naperville base, and its local leadership. Its team gains access to shared technical depth and operational support across the Buildkin companies.
Rieger founded WEBIT in 1996 and led it for nearly 30 years. The company serves small and midsize organizations across the Chicago area, concentrated in healthcare and dental practices, manufacturing, nonprofits, financial services, and architecture, construction, and engineering firms.
